Physiotherapists work with individuals who have experienced injury, illness, surgery, disability or developmental disability and are skilled in the assessment and hands-on management of a broad range of conditions that affect the musculoskeletal, circulatory, respiratory and nervous systems.

Your physiotherapist will:

  • assess the level of mobility, strength, endurance and function
  • develop a specific treatment plan to restore movement, maximize functional abilities and reduce limitations, including pain
  • provide specific therapeutic exercises, monitor progress and adjust the treatment accordingly
  • promote independence with advice on how to self-manage the condition and prevent complications or recurrence of the problem

Services are based out of three regional health centres (Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Boundary Trails Health Centre and Portage District General Hospital). Clinical services may be provided in various community settings such as: hospitals, personal care homes, school divisions, daycares and home visits as required.

Registration and licensing occurs through the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba.

Services are accessed through a referral process.
