Research

Requests for research are first submitted via RITHIM before being reviewed and approved by designates from the Quality, Planning & Performance team in Southern Health-Santé Sud. Research involving human subjects must receive approval from the Human Research Ethics Board at the University of Manitoba or the local National Research Council Ethics Board – this to conform with the standards of the Tri-Council Policy Statement for Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans and in accordance with the requirements of the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) of Manitoba, the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) of Manitoba and, as applicable, the Mental Health Act.
