May 1 -7 is a unique Awareness Week called - Let No One Be Alone. ‘Let No One be Alone’ is such a powerful statement in itself.
Everyone knows someone who lives alone. While we know that experiencing simple acts of kindness can have a huge impact on someone's life, we sometimes get so caught up in the busy-ness of things that we lose sight of what life might be for someone who is alone. A little bit of caring can go a long way towards improving someone’s health.
Here are a few simple things you can do in the spirit of Letting no One be Alone:
- Call a friend or family member to catch up and encourage others to do the same thing
- Ask people you know to reach out to those that are alone by visiting or doing something kind for them
- Host an event that reaches out to people who are alone such as a BBQ, a tea or a games night, encouraging all to bring a friend
- Take someone out for lunch, coffee, a drive or a movie
- Offer to run an errand, bake a goodie basket or clean yard for neighbor in need
- The list can go on…
Life’s too short: Let No One be Alone by joining us mark this Awareness Month through various acts of kindness.
