Shine a Light on Suicide Prevention

This World Suicide Prevention Day, let’s come together to Shine a Light on Suicide Prevention.
We invite everyone across Southern Health-Santé Sud to take part in a simple but meaningful show of support by wearing yellow and lighting up our communities in yellow.
Join the Campaign
- Wear yellow on September 10.
- Light up buildings, landmarks, businesses, homes, or public spaces in yellow.
- Start conversations about hope, mental health and suicide prevention.
- Encourage others to learn about available supports and resources.
- Share your participation on social media to inspire others to join.
Why Yellow?
Yellow symbolizes hope, light, and the promise of a new day. By wearing and displaying yellow, we send a visible message that we are willing to start the conversation, so no one has to face life’s challenges alone—and that hope is always possible.
Together, We Can
- Increase awareness of suicide prevention.
- Reduce stigma surrounding mental health and suicide.
- Encourage open, caring conversations.
- Remind people that support is available and that every life matters.
